About the role

  • Product Category Manager leading home wellness product innovation and category strategy at Saje Natural Wellness. Driving portfolios, launches, commercial results, and cross-functional alignment.

Responsibilities

  • Report to the Director of Innovation
  • Shape a 3-year innovation strategy and 24-month product pipeline
  • Develop innovation concepts defining customer problems, differentiation, and financial opportunity
  • Champion high-value innovations and new hero products
  • Lead products from ideation through commercialization with R&D and cross-functional partners
  • Test prototypes and provide feedback on formulas, claims, and sensorial experience
  • Monitor competitive and market landscapes to identify trends, whitespace opportunities, and risks
  • Create and execute category strategies across a defined product portfolio
  • Deliver revenue, unit, margin, adoption, and repeat-purchase goals
  • Recommend SKU rationalization and discontinuations and develop sales-protection plans
  • Develop portfolio architecture across aroma and format for customer need states and in-store/online navigation
  • Shape product positioning, manage cannibalization, and protect the core assortment
  • Build limited-edition and seasonal launch cadence
  • Maintain partnerships across R&D, Regulatory, Sourcing, Finance, Marketing, and Creative
  • Align stakeholders, remove roadblocks, and drive timely decisions
  • Serve as portfolio ambassador and product storyteller
  • Present concepts, strategies, and investment cases to the CEO and Executive Team for alignment, sign-off, and funding

Requirements

  • 5+ years of product development, category management, or merchant buying experience in a related field, preferably in the cosmetic, wellness, or CPG industries
  • Entrepreneurial, innovative, and creative mindset; able to spot or create original, authentic product opportunities
  • Proven ability to influence, build alignment, and drive decisions across cross-functional partners, including presenting recommendations to senior leaders
  • Experience taking concepts from 0→1 in ambiguous environments; comfortable creating structure, running test-and-learn cycles, and iterating quickly
  • Strong financial and analytical acumen, including opportunity sizing, business case development, forecasting, and post-launch performance tracking
  • Highly resourceful and outcomes-focused; able to deliver results within timelines, budgets, and resourcing constraints
  • Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving capabilities
  • Demonstrated ability to build internal excitement around product developments
  • Ability to work productively with a wide range of cross-functional partners
  • Solid work ethic and desire to achieve team goals and company revenue targets
  • Excellent written, presentation, and verbal communication skills
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field is required
  • Legally eligible to work in Canada
