About the role

  • Product Design Lead at Shakepay responsible for product design and user experience in financial services. Collaborating with product and engineering teams to deliver exceptional products.

Responsibilities

  • Own end-to-end design for key product areas: From research and discovery to prototyping, testing, and execution—delivering experiences that delight customers and drive measurable business impact.
  • Work closely with Product and Engineering teams: Collaborate with product managers and engineers early and often—aligning on problems, defining success, and ensuring design intent is implemented.
  • Champion customer understanding: Use qualitative and quantitative insights to inform design decisions, helping the team stay grounded in customer needs while targeting business goals.
  • Raise design quality and consistency: Partner with the team to evolve Shakepay’s design systems, ensuring a unified experience across our app, website, and marketing touchpoints.
  • Contribute to design culture and processes: Help define how design operates at Shakepay—be the go-to for taste, standards, and direction.
  • Mentor and guide other designers: Support the growth of our design team by providing thoughtful feedback, sharing best practices, and fostering a culture of craft, curiosity, and continuous improvement.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of product design experience, with a strong track record of shipping consumer-facing products.
  • Deep experience designing end-to-end user journeys for mobile and web.
  • Proven ability to balance craft, systems, and strategy—zooming in to the pixel level and out to the customer journey with equal clarity.
  • Strong understanding of component-based design systems and scalable design patterns.
  • Excellent communication skills—able to clearly articulate design decisions to designers and non-designers alike.
  • A natural collaborator who thrives in cross-functional teams and values strong partnerships with Product, Engineering, and Marketing.
  • Skilled at mentoring and design leadership through influence.
  • Passion for Bitcoin, financial empowerment, and the future of money.
