Senior collections officer managing third-party financial portfolios for Canadian credit bureau CBCC. Negotiating payments, resolving delinquent accounts, and maintaining compliance in a remote frontline team.
Responsibilities
Manage collection activities for assigned third-party portfolios, including financial loan accounts
Conduct professional collection calls with past due customers and negotiate payment arrangements within established client guidelines and risk parameters
Apply advanced collections techniques to resolve delinquent accounts while maintaining a customer-focused approach
Assess account risk and escalate accounts requiring additional action
Accurately document collection activity, account updates, commitments to pay, and payment arrangements within collection systems
Apply negotiation, objection handling, and problem-solving skills to manage challenging conversations
Maintain compliance with regulatory requirements, client expectations, and industry best practices
Achieve individual collection targets and contribute to departmental performance goals
Support team success through collaboration, knowledge sharing, and operational excellence
Complete additional collection responsibilities as assigned
Requirements
Minimum 5 years of Third-Party Collection Agency experience
Previous experience supporting Schedule A Bank portfolios is strongly preferred
Proven track record managing high-performing frontline collection desks and achieving performance targets
Strong performance history with demonstrated commitment to compliance and quality standards
Excellent verbal and written communication skills for effective collection conversations
Strong negotiation skills to influence outcomes and secure payment commitments
Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Excel and Outlook experience
Ability to adapt and perform successfully in a fast-paced, results-oriented environment

Flexibility to work one late evening shift from 12:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. ET
Mandatory Saturday shift from 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. ET
