About the role
- Director leading US and Canadian accounting for SIXT, a global mobility services provider. Owning IFRS close, audits, reporting, and SAP S/4HANA transformation.
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the North America G/L Accounting team across US and Canadian entities
- Own monthly, quarterly, and annual IFRS closing processes
- Manage the financial audit end-to-end
- Ensure consistently high balance sheet quality
- Prepare monthly P&L reports for the CFO, senior management, and headquarters
- Serve as primary contact for internal decision-makers, auditors, and tax advisors
- Drive process improvements, adoption of new technologies and AI tools, and strategic initiatives including SAP S/4HANA implementation
Requirements
- Degree in Finance/Accounting
- CPA, ACCA or equivalent qualification is ideal
- Deep, hands-on IFRS expertise
- Knowledge of US GAAP is a plus
- Several years of leadership responsibility in accounting, ideally in an international corporate environment
- Proven ability to work across time zones, cultures, and hierarchies
- Confident with SAP or comparable ERP systems
- Familiarity with emerging technologies
- Structured and solution-oriented approach with a hands-on attitude
- Ability to convey complex topics clearly at every level
- Fluent English is essential
- German skills are an advantage
