About the role

  • Revenue Accounting Manager analyzing contract and project revenue for Curtiss-Wright’s defense manufacturing business. Preparing forecasts, reconciliations, reporting packages and audit support.

Responsibilities

  • Provide financial analysis, review and control to various business units within Curtiss Wright Controls Defense Solutions
  • Perform revenue recognition on customer contracts, focusing on project-related revenue analysis, recording, reporting and forecasting using percentage-of-completion recognition
  • Review general ledger account reconciliations for revenue-related accounts and project data reconciliations monthly
  • Communicate with Business Unit Controllers and Program Managers regarding estimated costs at completion, assumptions, incurred costs, budgets and forecasts
  • Report revenue data and variance analysis to business unit leaders, Controllers, Program Managers and senior management
  • Prepare and review reporting packages for Corporate concerning revenue and project-related financial information
  • Prepare memos and checklists for customer contracts in accordance with US GAAP
  • Support revenue recognition and project process improvement
  • Assist with internal and external audits, including Sarbanes-Oxley self-assessment and compliance
  • Assist with budgeting and forecasting as needed
  • Perform ad hoc reporting and analysis
  • Complete general accounting and finance tasks as required
  • Provide backup and support for other finance team members

Requirements

  • Post-secondary diploma/degree from a college or university in Accounting and/or Business
  • Professional Accounting Designation highly preferred
  • Audit experience with a large firm considered an asset
  • 5–7 years of related experience, preferably in a manufacturing or high-technology environment, or a combination
  • Good understanding of US GAAP or IFRS and general/cost accounting principles and practices
  • Superior Excel skills
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Experience with revenue/cost analysis and audits considered an asset
  • Excellent analytical skills, including analyzing data, understanding significance and explaining issues
  • Ability to take initiative and recommend solutions/process improvements
  • Ability to work effectively as an individual contributor and as part of a team
  • Ability to work with cross-functional teams, follow procedures and use system tools
  • Excellent technical ability, including ability to work with integrated ERP systems, preferably S4 HANA/SAP
  • Ability to embrace change and demonstrate enthusiasm for continuous improvement
  • Position may require exposure to export-controlled information and additional security screening
