Electrical Engineer in Training at Stantec, working on airport projects and collaborating with various engineering sectors. Involves design and project management under supervision of senior engineers.
Responsibilities
Performs design tasks on assigned airport projects, under the supervision of our Lead Engineer or Project Manager, including preparation of engineering calculations, specifications, drawings and reports.
Conducts basic interpretations of drawings, codes, and other similar materials.
Design, construction supervision and commissioning of airport electrical infrastructure, field electrical centers, regulators, cabling, remote kiosks, transformers, and related systems.
Design of airfield installations for airfield ground lighting, approach lighting, signage, guidance systems, floodlighting and various other aerodrome electrical, guidance and lighting systems.
Performs field work as directed by a senior engineer/ designer.
Assists with collecting data and gathering information to support design decisions.
Performs other duties as assigned by the senior engineering staff.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Engineering.
Registered EIT or eligible to become registered within 3 months.
Minimum of 0-4 years of experience.
Internship experience preferred.
Experience with interdisciplinary civil and mechanical concepts is considered an asset.
Basic understanding of Revit and AutoCad, and the use of it as a drafting/design tool.
Ability to participate and collaborate in a project team setting and to engage in creative and critical thought.
Basic understanding of local and federal design guidelines and specifications.
Basic understanding of electrical engineering concepts and the ability to effectively communicate ideas to others.
Ability to interpret sketches, drawings, building program and other similar material.
Ability to take direction, follow process and accept feedback and suggestions from senior engineers/designers.
Requires understanding of Microsoft Office Suite, Revit, AutoCAD; Prefer experience with AGI 32, Visual Lighting Software, SKM, Newforma.
Practical experience of SKM, AGI32 and AutoCAD Civil 3D to be considered an asset.
