About the role

Software engineering co-op student building AWS data platforms, analytics applications, and ML pipelines for Sun Life’s financial services business. Supporting real-time insights through tested code, monitoring, documentation, and centralized logging.

Responsibilities

Collaborate within an Agile squad to build core data and analytics platforms, applications, and self-service capabilities
Develop robust data pipelines integrating various data sources to enable analytics in the cloud environment
Work with data science analytics partners and AWS service partners to deliver integration and delivery pipelines for analytics use cases such as recommendation systems
Operate in a Shift-Left testing environment, prioritizing efficient, tested, and clear code
Improve application and service supportability and transparency through comprehensive documentation, monitoring and alert systems, and centralized logging

Strong written and oral communication skills and interpersonal abilities
Familiarity with or eagerness to learn Agile methodologies such as Kanban or Scrum
Pursuing or recently completed a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Technology, or a related field
Experience with AWS services such as S3, Lambda, and Glue
Familiarity with or eagerness to learn Git, Bitbucket, and Python, including using Python to write AWS Lambda functions
Knowledge of Docker and container-orchestration tools such as Kubernetes
Knowledge of CI/CD tools such as Jenkins and Artifactory
Knowledge of SQL databases such as Postgres
Knowledge of Large Language Models (LLMs)
Knowledge of ML Pipelines and Model Registry in AWS
Interest in Microservice Architectures
