About the role

  • Data Loss Prevention Analyst protecting Sun Life’s financial-services data through DLP policies, insider-threat investigations, and cybersecurity controls. Partnering with leaders in a hybrid Toronto role.

Responsibilities

  • Define and align strategies for data protection to identify and manage data and cybersecurity threat exposures
  • Develop and implement data protection programs across the enterprise
  • Act as a voice of Information Security to clients and management
  • Develop and maintain business and technology relationships
  • Investigate moderate to complex events and communicate findings to senior leadership
  • Identify risks and security themes and develop recommendations for resolution
  • Investigate, document, and follow up on anomalies
  • Investigate and resolve systemic issues
  • Triage Insider Threat cases
  • Escalate issues to senior management when warranted
  • Design innovative insider threat solutions

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in security or IT industry
  • Minimum of 3 years hands-on experience developing Data Protection / DLP policies and rules
  • Experience developing policies/rules for Endpoint & Network Prevent DLP and CASB
  • Advanced knowledge of organization, technology controls, security, and risk issues
  • Experience with data discovery and designing discovery policies/rules
  • Working knowledge of cybersecurity policies and standards related to Data Protection
  • Hands-on experience with Data Protection/Security tools, including Data Classification, AIP, and Encryption
  • Experience with Firewalls/Web Proxies, Networking, and Endpoint protection
  • Experience developing automation scripts, or demonstrated aptitude for programming; Python preferred
  • Excellent oral, written, and presentation communication skills
  • Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, System/Computer Engineering, Cyber-Security, or Information Security is preferred; other degrees and relevant experience will be considered
  • Ability to work independently and in a global team environment
  • Experience writing professional documents for internal and external purposes and presenting to senior leadership
  • Knowledge or experience with AWS, GCP, and Azure cloud services preferred
  • Reliability Security Clearance required
  • Must account for activities during any period of living or travelling outside Canada for 6 consecutive months during the last 5 years as part of the Government of Canada security-clearance process
