About the role
- Senior Business Analyst improving TD Securities’ trade finance systems and processes. Leading requirements, testing, controls, and analytics for capital markets operations.
Responsibilities
- Conduct research, analysis, and reporting on operational and service issues
- Execute critical projects and strategic special initiatives within a defined functional area
- Enhance management decision-making on policies, processes, products, and services using analytics and reporting insights
- Facilitate implementation of policies, processes, and initiatives to meet functional objectives
- Act as a subject matter expert for Trade Finance systems and processes
- Gather, analyze, and document business requirements through change plans and design documents
- Analyze functional process designs and write detailed use cases aligned with internal procedures and product delivery models
- Transfer functional requirements to development teams and assist during coding
- Assist management in developing test strategies
- Lead test planning, test case scripting, and execution with operations teams
- Identify and support corrective actions and solutions for process and control deficiencies, audit, regulatory, and operational risk events
- Handle critical and high-risk issues and determine appropriate resolutions
- Act as an analytics and insights working lead/resource, providing business expertise and recommendations to management
- Collaborate with business, technology, development, and operations teams
Requirements
- Strong understanding of core trade products such as Documentary Letters of Credit, Documentary Collections Guarantees, and standby letters of credit with end-to-end process knowledge
- Ability to create clear, structured, and effective design documentation
- Proficiency in manual and automated test execution
- Skilled in designing, developing, and maintaining comprehensive test cases and scripts
- Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments, writing user stories, and managing backlogs
- Ability to interpret data, create dashboards, and support data-driven decision-making
- Bachelor's Degree in finance, International Business or another related discipline
- Excellent knowledge of project management is an asset
- Excellent knowledge of system implementations is an asset
- Risk management and control focus with a high level of personal accountability and ownership
- Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving skills, and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Excellent listening, conflict resolution, and mediation skills
- Advanced knowledge of programming tools such as UiPath, Alteryx, Python, AI, Robotics, RPA, and Tableau is an asset
- Clear, professional, and informative oral and written communication style in English
- For Quebec roles: mastery of a language other than French to support or serve clients requiring services in another language
