About the role

  • Tax and estate planner delivering advanced wealth planning for TD Private Wealth Management clients. Developing tax-efficient estates, philanthropic strategies, and US cross-border solutions for high-net-worth clients.

Responsibilities

  • Provide high-net-worth tax and estate planning solutions to qualifying Private Wealth Management clients
  • Help clients achieve financial objectives and peace of mind through advanced wealth planning
  • Conduct in-depth discovery of client needs and address them through holistic Wealth Plans
  • Identify referral opportunities and coordinate Partners/Advisors to execute integrated plans
  • Cover estate planning matters and engage Accountants, Lawyers, and Business Succession Planners as subject-matter experts when required
  • Develop tax-efficient estate plans, protect and increase wealth, support philanthropic planning, and address US cross-border issues
  • Work with the direct manager to improve client experience, operational practices, Practice Management practices, and personal development
  • Participate in the local community and support TD charity and community initiatives
  • Foster a positive and constructive work environment
  • Increase team planning knowledge through informal learning, lunch & learns, and other learning activities
  • Demonstrate leadership and support the employee experience

Requirements

  • Professional legal designation required: LLB, LLM, or JD
  • Willing to complete CICA In Depth Tax course, levels 1 and 2, or Masters of Tax is required
  • Certified financial planning designation is an asset: CFP or F. Pl.
  • Minimum 10+ years of wealth planning experience gained through client contact or a technical advisory role to advisors
  • Investment industry knowledge
  • Estate and tax planning expertise
  • Knowledge and experience working on advanced financial planning issues
  • Strong passion and focus on delivering a first-class wealth planning experience
  • Client service focus and orientation
  • Self-starter who is results-oriented and completes work on time
  • Ability to work effectively and collaboratively in a team environment
  • Strong communication, presentation, time management, organizational skills, and work ethic
