About the role

  • Senior Instructional Designer responsible for developing learning strategies at Tecsys in Montreal. Leading design of training programs for product onboarding and skills enablement in a collaborative tech environment.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the design and execution of product training strategies and curriculum frameworks for complex software ecosystems, including product onboarding and role‑based learning pathways for end users and implementation specialists.
  • Introduce innovative and digital-first learning /AI approaches to enhance learning experiences.
  • Translate organizational priorities into learning strategies that strengthen professional and leadership capabilities.
  • Co-Design an organizational skills framework to support organizational upskilling and career development.
  • Conduct needs assessments (data-driven) to identify skill gaps and learning priorities.
  • Apply instructional design best practices to create engaging, learner-centered content (e-learning, workshops, simulations, on-the-job learning) and curriculums-at-scale.
  • Design and develop targeted competency development programs for employees and managers and specific functions when required (product, engineering, customer success, sales, etc.).
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts to translate complex technical content into clear, engaging learning materials
  • Continuously evaluate and improve programs based on learner feedback, adoption data, and business impact.
  • Benchmark against instructional design industry best practices to ensure the company’s learning solutions remain modern and competitive and aligned with evolving standards for the proper and responsible use of AI.

Requirements

  • Bachelor or master's degree in Instructional Design, Adult Learning or Educational Technology or equivalent experience
  • A minimum of 8 years of L&D experience, including digital-first approaches (microlearning, social learning, AI-enabled tools, blended programs)
  • Proven experience leading the design of product training strategies and curriculum frameworks for complex software ecosystems in a tech environment.
  • Experience in eLearning design and development (multimedia and authoring tool expertise)
  • Experience creating competency frameworks
  • Strong stakeholder management and project management skills
  • Systems thinker and problem-solving skills
  • Operate with a high degree of autonomy and judgement
  • Experience building or scaling customer/partner education programs, academies, or certification models for software (ideally in SaaS) is an asset
  • Strong proficiency in both written and verbal English communication essential for effective correspondence with clients, suppliers, business partners, and colleagues beyond the province of Quebec.
  • Bilingualism (English and French)
