About the role
- Technical Writer responsible for high-quality technical documentation for imaging systems and software. Collaborating with engineering teams and optimizing AI-based documentation infrastructure.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain reference manuals, user guides, and technical documentation for software and hardware products.
- Collaborate with engineering teams and product managers to understand features and documentation needs.
- Design, implement, and maintain an AI-based documentation infrastructure, including content structuring, reuse, and optimization for AI.
- Produce clear, technically accurate documentation in English for developers, system integrators, and end users.
- Deliver documentation in various electronic formats (PDF, compiled HTML, online help systems).
- Verify documentation accuracy by following product usage flows and performing basic validations.
- Gather and convey structured feedback to technical teams to improve product usability and clarity.
- Participate in technical reviews, product demonstrations, and documentation planning activities.
Requirements
- 1 to 5 years of experience in technical writing.
- Familiarity with AI-assisted documentation tools and approaches (content automation, content structuring, intelligent search, AI-optimized documentation).
- Experience or exposure to conversational agents (chatbots), including contributing to documentation, knowledge bases, or structured content used by these systems.
- Experience with content management systems (MadCap Flare or equivalent).
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Word and Visio.
- Basic experience with image editing tools for diagrams and screenshots.
- Ability to understand and reuse developer documentation or code comments (Python, C++ or .NET is an asset).
- Ability to interact with technical experts and clarify information.
- Quick learner of complex technical concepts.
- Strong attention to detail and rigor.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in French and English.
- Degree in English, professional writing, or a related field.
