Senior Product Owner leading Agile development for Telesat’s Lightspeed satellite network. Defining product vision and requirements while ensuring stakeholder alignment and optimal product delivery.
Responsibilities
Develop and communicate a clear vision for the product, ensuring alignment with the overall business strategy and customer needs.
Work closely with stakeholders to gather and document requirements, ensuring that all user stories are clear, concise, and actionable.
Organize the traceability of requirements to implementation, delivery, and testing.
Prioritize and maintain the product backlog, ensuring that it accurately reflects the priorities of the business and provides the development team with a clear understanding of what needs to be built.
Break down high-level requirements into actionable user stories, including detailed acceptance criteria and acceptance tests.
Collaborate with the development team to plan and prioritize releases, balancing the need for new features with the need for stability and maintenance.
Act as the primary point of contact between the development team and stakeholders, facilitating communication and ensuring that everyone is aligned on priorities and expectations.
Work closely with vendors providing components and systems to Lightspeed.
Work closely with the QA team to ensure that all user stories meet the required quality standards before they are released to production.
Gather feedback from customers and stakeholders and incorporate it into the product backlog, ensuring that the product continues to evolve to meet changing needs and market conditions.
Provide support and training to end-users to ensure successful adoption and optimal utilization of the implemented systems.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in telecommunication, network engineering, software engineering or equivalent practical experience.
At least 10 years as a developer, system analyst, product line manager, or similar roles in the telecom industry.
Experience with element management, network management, and control plane applications.
Familiarity with virtualization, cloud native architecture principles, multi-tenant applications, streaming, data analytics, and distributed storage systems.
Highly motivated and able to independently drive projects to completion.
Creative problem-solving skills and strong analytical skills.
Strong written and oral English communication skills.
Familiarity with satellite and wireless telecommunications considered an asset.
