Responsibilities
- Responsible for developing and maintaining system verification and validation plans of the Telesat LEO constellation communication system.
- Participate in various testing activities across the Telesat Leo system with vendors and other partners.
- Responsible for maintaining the lab.
Requirements
- B.Sc. in Electrical, Computer or Systems Engineering
- 8+ years of experience in satellite communications or large scale telecom systems
- Develop and maintain system and sub system verification matrices for operational, autonomy, resilience, and availability requirements (NOC/SOC autonomy, redundancy, failover, graceful degradation).
- Lead system level operational test planning, execution, and reporting, including:
- o Primary/secondary NOC, SOC, and CSOC failover
- o Autonomy periods during GNSS outages and loss of control segments
- o Progressive deployment and service continuity scenarios
- Serve as System Operations SME, supporting NMS, EMS, OSS/BSS and satellite operations teams.
- Define and execute LEOP, IOT, commissioning, and service activation test scenarios from a system perspective.
- Develop and maintain operational testbeds simulating outages, degraded modes, and recovery workflows.
- Perform hands-on testing in the LEO Lab for operational workflows, monitoring, alarms, and recovery.
- Validate FCAPS, telemetry, logging, anomaly detection, and root cause investigation capabilities.
- Support System Acceptance Planning for LEOP and IOT phases.
