About the role
- QA automation engineer building CI/CD, UI, API, and hardware-in-the-loop testing systems. Supporting Terawatt’s electric vehicle charging infrastructure with reliable, scalable quality automation.
Responsibilities
- Own and extend the test automation framework across UI, API, and hardware-in-the-loop test surfaces
- Build and maintain CI/CD test infrastructure, including pipeline orchestration, containerized and ephemeral test environments, environment provisioning, and test parallelization
- Develop comprehensive test plans, scenarios, cases, and test data for software and hardware-in-the-loop features
- Maintain test cases and scripts in the Test Management System
- Analyze test results and help developers address underlying issues
- Monitor production bugs, identify root causes, expand test coverage, and report product quality metrics
- Triage automation failures and implement solutions to maintain reliability and performance
- Design and execute performance, scale, security, and user experience testing as required
- Evaluate, pilot, and introduce AI-assisted testing tools while validating their output
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to software engineers on test-suite best practices
- Collaborate with Developers, SREs, Product Managers, and Operations to validate end-to-end functionality
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or above in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field
- 7+ years of experience in a Quality Assurance role
- 4+ years of experience designing automation frameworks and developing test automation software and tools
- Experience leading QA projects and initiatives
- Working knowledge of Playwright, Cypress, Selenium, Appium, JIRA, STLC, TestRail, ALM, Zephyr, Karate, Requests, HttpRunner, TestNG, or Fiddler
- Hands-on experience designing, building, and maintaining CI/CD pipelines-as-code, such as GitHub Actions
- Experience containerizing test environments; Docker required and Kubernetes a plus
- Experience provisioning ephemeral or on-demand test infrastructure
- Proficiency in Python
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills, technical aptitude, attention to detail, self-motivation, and ability to learn new concepts, technologies, and products
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Preferred: familiarity with Infrastructure-as-Code such as Terraform or Ansible
- Preferred: familiarity with performance, security, accessibility, ETL, data quality frameworks, and advanced SQL
- Preferred: curiosity with AI-assisted QA tooling
