Front - End Web Developer building reusable React and TypeScript components for the Eclipse Foundation’s open source web platforms. Maintaining accessible applications, design systems, APIs, and automated tests.
About the role
- Front End Developer building polished, accessible SaaS interfaces on Salesforce and cloud-native technologies. Supporting nonprofit organizations that strengthen communities through technology.
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain efficient, reusable, and reliable code across the cloud-native stack and Salesforce
- Oversee proposed solutions and ensure implemented software meets long-term business objectives
- Translate designs into polished, reusable UI and contribute to the shared component library
- Own front-end quality, including performance, accessibility, and cross-browser consistency
- Identify bottlenecks and bugs and devise solutions
- Help maintain code quality, organization, and automation
- Troubleshoot and resolve production issues as part of tier 3 support
- Design and ship new features across existing and emerging products
- Participate in monthly “spike days” involving collaborative project development
Requirements
- Computer Science Degree or equivalent experience
- 2 years+ professional experience building and shipping front-end applications
- Strong understanding of component-based JavaScript and TypeScript frameworks such as React, including component architecture
- Understanding of fundamental design principles behind scalable applications
- Solid grasp of component, global, and visual state management
- Excellent communication skills and experience working in a highly collaborative development team
- Fluency with modern CSS and its different approaches
- Understanding of accessibility, semantic HTML, and WCAG compliance
- Highly motivated with the ability to work and make decisions independently
- Experience with trunk-based development and continuous delivery in cloud environments like AWS and Vercel a plus
- Experience automating processes with AI and using AI coding agents is a bonus
- Salesforce ISV experience is not required
- Successful completion of background and reference checks required for employment
