Responsibilities
Reporting to the Director, Community & International Education in the Faculty of Kinesiology, Sport, and Recreation.
The eLearning Specialist is responsible for the creation of effective online learning tools and courses for the Faculty.
Promote and integrate online learning tools and instructional technology and courses throughout its programs.
Work with Faculty and ATS instructors and various staff on course development, evaluation tools, and support and promotion of online teaching.
Required to work in a diverse and complex working environment and communicate effectively.
Work on projects directed by the Director of ICE to design specific courses, micro-credentials, and/or professional development work for the Faculty.
Requirements
Undergraduate degree or equivalent in instructional design, educational technology, training and development, teaching and learning in higher education or a related field, combined with training and experience in professional development and eLearning applications or other online collaboration tools.
Minimum 2 years’ experience in technology enhanced educational environments.
Demonstrated competency in developing instructional material in various online formats (written, video, other) and experience in creating online learning courses.
Knowledge of educational multimedia design tools such as Adobe Creative Suite or similar tools to create, manipulate, edit and produce audio, video, and images.
Strong project management, prioritization and multitasking skills.
Strong organizational skills with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail and the ability to make timely decisions and act on individual initiative.
Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
Knowledge of current best practices in instructional design and curriculum development.
Knowledge of standards and specifications including IMS, SCORM and accessibility.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
