Responsibilities
Document the claim file by accurately capturing and updating data/information in accordance with best practices for commercial claims with moderate to high exposure and complexity.
Use judgment to review policies and determine coverages by analyzing applicable terms and assessing whether the claim is covered.
Work toward prompt claim resolution by developing a file strategy, performing evaluations, and escalating issues as needed.
Establish timely reserves and conduct ongoing review throughout the claim lifecycle, within your authority, by estimating and validating claim values.
Meet quality standards by following best practices.
Deliver customer service through proactive communication, responding to inquiries, following client protocols, and participating in marketing efforts as required.
Manage expenses by working within approved vendor networks and controlling the scope of work assigned to external service providers.
Contribute to profitable growth by providing risk insights, trend analysis, and reporting to the business unit or client as needed.
Maintain professional and technical knowledge by participating in training opportunities, staying current on industry trends, networking, and engaging with professional associations.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree and 3 or more years' experience in claims or insurance OR
Zurich Certified Insurance Apprentice, including an associate diploma, and 3 or more years' experience in claims or insurance OR
Completion of the Zurich Claims training program and 3 or more years' experience in claims or insurance OR
High school diploma or equivalent and 5 or more years' experience in claims or insurance AND
Obtaining and maintaining the required claims adjuster license
Knowledge of insurance regulations, markets, and products
Proficiency in Microsoft Office
