Responsibilities
Source, negotiate, and procure materials, components and services in accordance with project requirements, ensuring compliance to specification and defence regulations. Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, fostering partnerships that ensure the reliability, quality and competitiveness of our supply base. Negotiate terms, conditions and pricing with suppliers to secure best possible agreements while mitigating risks and ensuring adherence to budget. Continuously evaluate and improve the supply chain processes, identifying opportunities for cost savings, efficiency improvements and risk mitigation. Conduct market research to stay informed about industry trends, pricing and availability of materials and components. Ensure all procurement activities comply with industry regulations, compliance to local and global company policies whilst maintaining accurate records and documentation. Work closely with Engineering, Project Management, Quality Assurance and other internal and group teams to align procurement strategies with project goals and timelines. Identify potential risks in the supply chain and develop strategies to mitigate them, ensuring continuity and reliable supply.
Requirements
Degree in business or equivalent work experience; BS/BA in Supply Chain Management or equivalent work experience; Experience in manufacturing purchasing and/or inventory management; Ability to travel internationally; Holds a valid Driving Licence; Holds security clearance or the ability to obtain one; Strong negotiation and contract management skills; Experience in procurement software, tools, MRP systems and Microsoft Office; Has an understanding of drawing nomenclature and familiarity with engineering terminology and understanding of raw materials and manufacturing processes; Understanding of cross border supply chain and logistics; Understanding of the requirements of US Defence import/export restrictions (ITAR); Understanding of Canada’s Controlled Goods Program.
