About the role

  • Senior Software Developer leading development on Data platform and API at Absorb Software. Join a collaborative team passionate about improving performance and architecture for integrations platform.

Responsibilities

  • Work in an Agile (Scrum/Kanban) environment and lead technical activities across the team: estimation, sprint planning, full software development lifecycle work, code reviews, research, deployments, and documentation.
  • Own the design and delivery of complex features across the DMS platform and DMS API, ensuring solutions are scalable, maintainable, and aligned with the broader technical architecture.
  • Drive architectural decisions for data integration pipelines and API services, and help evolve the platform’s cloud infrastructure.
  • Partner with a cross-functional team to diagnose and resolve challenging software bugs, performance bottlenecks, and integration issues.
  • Work in parallel with agentic AI to deliver verified results faster, and help establish team patterns and standards for AI-assisted development.
  • Diagnose and resolve SQL Server performance issues, including query analysis and tuning.
  • Define and uphold development standards, quality practices, and technical architecture across deliverables.
  • Build and execute comprehensive automated tests (unit and integration) for all code modules.
  • Develop well-documented, intent-revealing code.
  • Lead peer review activities and raise the overall quality of the team’s output.
  • Create a learning environment through collaboration, shared knowledge, and technical leadership.
  • Mentor and coach peers and less experienced developers on design, programming approaches, application knowledge, and technical product knowledge.

Requirements

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Software Engineering, or equivalent professional experience.
  • A minimum of 7+ years of related industry experience, including demonstrated technical leadership on complex projects.
  • Strong knowledge of C#, ASP.NET MVC, Web API, Micro Services, and REST API design.
  • Experience designing and building data integration pipelines and service-to-service integrations.
  • Hands-on experience with AWS (e.g., ECS/Fargate, SQS, S3, Lambda) and containerization with Docker.
  • Familiarity working with agentic AI (Claude, GPT) models.
  • Solid Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) skills.
  • Ability to write clean, well-factored code based on S.O.L.I.D. principles.
  • Experience with Test Driven Development.
  • Working knowledge of HTML/JavaScript, TypeScript, CSS, and front-end frameworks (React, jQuery, Knockout.js).
  • Proficiency with Git-based source control and CI/CD workflows.
  • Preferred requirements
  • Experience designing distributed, event-driven, or message-based systems (e.g., queue-based consumers, auto-scaling workloads).
  • AI agent development experience.
  • Experience writing, analyzing, and tuning well-performing T-SQL queries.
  • Experience with Object Relational Mappers such as Entity Framework.
  • Familiarity with Agile (Scrum/Kanban) practices and concepts.
  • AWS certification or equivalent cloud experience.
  • Passion for improving the customer experience.
