About the role

  • Senior Manager leading BDO’s Canadian credits and incentives advisory practice. Reviewing tax-credit eligibility, guiding client engagements, and developing high-performing teams.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and support Credits & Incentives client engagements, focusing on Clean Economy tax credits and capital asset or manufacturing tax credits
  • Review and analyze capital asset acquisitions, construction, and installation costs to identify qualified expenditures and maximize tax credits
  • Develop and maintain strong client relationships as a trusted advisor
  • Communicate technical matters, recommendations, engagement progress, and project priorities to clients and team members
  • Coach, mentor, and develop team members
  • Develop industry knowledge and contribute to the growth of the Credits & Incentives practice
  • Ensure work is complete, accurate, appropriately reviewed, and technically current
  • Recommend and implement quality, process, and efficiency improvements
  • Support employee performance and development and identify and attract top talent
  • Identify opportunities to introduce clients to other BDO service lines and bring new clients to the firm

Requirements

  • Engineering, science, or technology degree
  • Experience in a related field of energy, infrastructure, manufacturing, or real estate
  • 5+ years of experience supporting capital asset reviews, tax credit claims, grant filings, or related advisory services
  • Recognized subject matter expert and leader
  • Strong understanding of Clean Economy Tax Credit programs, manufacturing capital asset programs, and the broader Canadian tax credit landscape
  • Experience leading client engagements and coaching high-performing teams
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, project management, and communication skills
  • Commitment to teamwork, client service, and high-quality work
