About the role
- Senior Technical Writer delivering clear documentation for agile software teams at Boomi. Collaborating with cross-functional teams on technical writing and user experience initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Work closely with fast-paced agile software engineering teams, technical writers, designers, and product managers to understand complex technical concepts, gather information and translate them into engaging, user-friendly technical documentation, developer and user guides, API references, release notes, tutorials, and other learning resources
- Collaborate cross-functionally and with other writers to collect and address customer feedback in a timely manner
- Work on strategic initiatives, content migration, and improvement projects
- Contribute to tools, workflows, and processes that make documentation more efficient, collaborative, and scalable
- Adapt to a fast-paced, multi-team agile environment with a willingness to manage competing priorities and use agile methods to keep in sync with team priorities and roadmap.
Requirements
- 5+ years of proven experience writing technical documentation for complex software products in an agile environment
- Contributed to multiple shipped products and documented developer & user guides, APIs, reference docs, and release notes for technologies such as AI, cloud, iPaas, SaaS, etc
- Experience working with multiple fast-paced software agile Engineering teams, using Jira boards, tracking issues, reviewing epics and code samples, understanding technical tasks, and explaining them in plain language
- Outstanding verbal and written skills, technical aptitude, and the ability to research technical concepts, analyze specifications, and communicate them clearly and precisely
- Ability to multitask, adapt, prioritize, and collaborate respectfully with Engineering, Product Management, UX, Customer Success,& other cross-functional groups to improve user experience and write content
- You know how to work with the following:
- Docs-as-code/CI-CD approach for documentation
- Markdown
- Bitbucket or Github
- Basic knowledge of HTML, Python, or JavaScript to work with code snippets and scripts
