About the role

  • Senior Project Coordinator assisting project managers in construction projects in Woodbridge, Ontario. Responsible for planning, execution, and documentation while mentoring junior coordinators.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and coordinate the planning, execution, and monitoring of construction projects.
  • Collaborate with project managers, subcontractors, suppliers, and clients to ensure project goals are met.
  • Supervise and mentor junior project coordinators, providing guidance, training, and performance feedback.
  • Foster a collaborative and supportive team environment.
  • Supervise, mentor, coach, and train other project personnel, when applicable.
  • Ensure the project team adheres to the provided timelines and deliverables.
  • Oversee the maintenance of accurate project documentation, including contracts, permits, plans, schedules, and reports.
  • Ensure proper version control and accessibility.
  • Record, track, and process all construction drawings.
  • Develop project schedules, incorporating milestones, tasks, and dependencies.
  • Monitor project progress, track deviations, and propose solutions to keep projects on track.
  • Assist in preparing the project baseline schedule and updating the schedule throughout the project.
  • Facilitate clear and effective communication between project stakeholders.
  • Provide regular updates to project managers, clients, and team members.
  • Collaborate with project managers to allocate resources, including labor, equipment, and materials.
  • Ensure resource availability to meet project milestones.
  • Assist in tracking project expenditures against budgets.
  • Collaborate with project managers to manage project costs and propose cost-saving measures.
  • Assist in reconciling subtrade and supplier’s accounts.
  • Assist in preparing budget reports, monthly Project Cost Reports, cash-flow, and progress billings.
  • Establish and maintain positive relationships with clients.
  • Address client inquiries and concerns while ensuring project deliverables meet or exceed expectations.

Requirements

  • Engineering degree (Civil/Construction/Architectural) or technical college diploma in Construction Management or equivalent combination of technical training and/or related experience
  • A minimum of 5 years of construction experience of equivalent.
  • Knowledge of all aspects of construction (technology, equipment, methods), industry practices, estimating/budgeting and scheduling.
  • Strong understanding and adherence to safety standards
  • WELL Accredited is an asset
  • Computer literate, including proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Microsoft Project
  • Experience with Primavera P6, Procore, and BIM software knowledge is an asset
