About the role

  • Payroll Associate responsible for processing payroll and managing complex inquiries for clients. Must be PCP certified and experienced in Canadian payroll practices.

Responsibilities

  • Process bi-weekly/semi-monthly/monthly payroll on time, making changes to payroll (adding/removing employees, adding/removing deductions, etc.)
  • Handle the T4 process and submit ROE forms amongst other payroll duties
  • Answer complex inquiries from clients related to payroll, providing recommendations and problem-solving
  • Analyze data while maintaining compliance, accuracy, and efficiency
  • Calculate and file health tax levies, taxes, and WCB for multiple provinces
  • Review CRA accounts and respond to notices
  • Correspond with clients and the bookkeeping team to ensure timely service and a hands-off experience
  • Benefits reconciliation

Requirements

  • PCP certified
  • At least 3-5 years of payroll experience in a fast-paced environment for a company or companies with multiple employees
  • Intimate understanding of the Canadian payroll process, including but not limited to withholding taxes, source deductions, other deductions, benefits, ROE forms, T4 slips, and more
  • Experience processing payroll in multiple provinces (QC is an asset)
