About the role

  • Field Service Specialist assisting with HVAC mechanical, electrical, and control issues in remote Canada. Supporting customers and ensuring satisfaction with service and troubleshooting.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot and resolve basic HVAC mechanical, electrical, and control problems
  • Communicate with customers upon arrival and before leaving the work site and ensure high levels of customer satisfaction
  • Meet regularly with customers to become familiar with operating problems
  • Keep customers informed on the nature of service provided, outstanding issues and recommends system enhancements, upgrades, and or replacement
  • Promote the sale of add-on work
  • Manage assigned work to meet professional and efficient execution of time and customer satisfaction
  • Assist in the loading and commissioning of all system and network-level controllers as required
  • Assist in validation of complete system functionality and troubleshoots problems with subcontractors and other trades to ensure proper operation
  • Provide field change information to the project team for the creation of as-built drawings and software
  • Keep current on safety bulletins and safety field change notices
  • Operate in a safe manner in accordance with published safety guidelines

Requirements

  • Associate’s (AA) degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school (or equivalent working experience)
  • 2+ years of experience with HVAC controls or building automation systems field including commissioning and start up
  • Strong computer skills required
  • Effective interpersonal and communication skills to represent the company to customers and other outside contacts in an ethical and professional manner
  • Ability to explain technical information to technical and non-technical people
  • Authorized to work in Canada and travel to the United States without sponsorship now or in the future
