About the role

Backend Engineer responsible for backend systems and infrastructure in a fast-growing AI startup. Driving product velocity and stability with end-to-end feature execution.

Responsibilities

You’ll own end-to-end execution for backend systems and infrastructure
You’ll build APIs, services, and real-time systems handling complex accounting logic
You’ll collaborate with founders, product, and frontend engineering to turn complex workflows into secure, performant systems
You’ll design, implement, and ship production-ready features at high speed
You’ll manage data migrations, scaling challenges, external integrations, and end-to-end reliability
You’ll drive measurable outcomes that accelerate DualEntry’s product velocity and stability

10 years of overall experience, or at least 5 years of strong AWS-focused engineering experience.
Deep understanding of AWS services (EC2, ECS/EKS, RDS, IAM, networking, etc.).
Experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation, etc.).
Strong background in CI/CD systems (GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or similar).
Familiarity with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) and modern deployment workflows.
Experience implementing monitoring and observability solutions (Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog, etc.).
Comfortable working independently to build new systems and processes from the ground up.
Time zone flexibility to support partial 24-hour coverage is preferred.

Equity: $30,000+ USD
