About the role
- Principal Product Manager owning billing strategy, workflows, payments, and collections for Duck Creek’s insurance SaaS platform. Driving compliant, AI-enabled product capabilities with engineering, finance, data, and customers.
Responsibilities
- Define and own the product strategy and roadmap for Duck Creek’s billing domain
- Own invoicing, payment processing, commissions, collections, disbursements, reconciliation, and automation capabilities
- Act as general manager for the product, owning strategy, execution, and financial outcomes
- Translate insurer billing practices, payment preferences, financial controls, and regulatory considerations into prioritized product capabilities
- Lead product discovery for complex billing, payment, and financial-operations problems
- Serve as primary product steward for billing and finance personas
- Lead application-level decision-support and AI-enabled capabilities for payment optimization, collections prioritization, anomaly detection, and exception handling
- Partner with data science and analytics teams to integrate explainable models, scores, and insights into billing workflows
- Translate billing rules, payment plans, commissions logic, and reconciliation requirements into scalable capabilities
- Guide adoption of straight-through processing with transparency, exception handling, and escalation paths
- Ensure billing workflows, financial transactions, and recommendations are auditable, compliant, and governed
- Partner with Engineering and Architecture on technically sound, scalable billing capabilities
- Collaborate with Product Marketing, Sales, Finance, and Professional Services on value articulation, enablement, and product positioning
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Masters Degree and/or equivalent experience relevant to functional area
- 7+ years of experience in product management within SaaS or enterprise software environments
- Demonstrated experience owning complex workflow- or decision-centric product domains
- Experience designing, building, or integrating sub-ledger or General Ledger solutions within insurance or financial services environments
- Deep understanding of P&C billing operations preferred, including invoicing, payment processing, collections, commissions, disbursements, reconciliation, and regulatory and compliance considerations
- Hands-on experience with billing systems preferred
- Experience delivering configurable, transaction-centric platforms, including rules-driven and AI-enabled or model-informed workflows
- Strong product management fundamentals and agile, iterative delivery experience
- Ability to partner cross-functionally with engineering, data, architecture, finance, and business leaders
- Legally authorized to work in the country of job location; company does not sponsor visa petitions
- Ability to travel up to 20%
