Residential Lending Strategy Intern supporting EQ Bank, Canada’s challenger bank, with mortgage retention and HELOC growth strategies. Building portfolio dashboards, financial models, and data-driven recommendations.
Responsibilities
Support Mortgage Retention and HELOC strategies and initiatives to drive customer retention and HELOC product growth
Contribute alongside cross-functional teams to the business unit’s overall strategy and direction
Assist in discovery and planning for strategic and tactical topics including customer retention, portfolio growth, pricing, operational efficiency, and regulatory matters
Support development of business cases using qualitative fact finding and quantitative modeling
Develop familiarity with internal systems and gather data from internal sources
Support execution of product improvements and initiatives
Design, build, and manage Power BI and Excel dashboards consolidating portfolio metrics
Develop presentation materials with key data and portfolio insights
Refine processes to enable quicker analysis turnaround
Support quantitative methods and Excel models to develop decision-making insights
Provide data and analysis to cross-functional teams
Support strategic planning through financial modeling, market research, and presentation development
Present insights and recommendations based on research and data analysis
Requirements
Currently enrolled in University or College program (Finance, Business, Accounting or Economics is preferred)
Extensive working knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Power Point, SQL)
Strong analytical skills
Strong organizational skills
Ability to handle multiple competing priorities
Good time management skills
Highly developed verbal and written communication skills with the ability to respond in a clear, concise, and professional manner
