About the role

  • Senior Director leading EQB's highest-priority enterprise initiatives and strategic execution. Translating strategy into measurable outcomes for Canada's Challenger Bank.

Responsibilities

  • Lead a portfolio of EQB's highest-priority enterprise initiatives and strategic priorities, including CEO- and CFO-sponsored programs
  • Partner with executive sponsors as a trusted advisor to mobilize, accelerate, and deliver critical initiatives
  • Provide hands-on leadership for complex cross-functional initiatives requiring enterprise coordination and senior stakeholder alignment
  • Shape implementation approaches, execution strategies, operating models, and delivery plans
  • Challenge assumptions, strengthen plans, and improve decision-making through structured problem solving and rigorous analysis
  • Identify and resolve issues, risks, dependencies, and organizational barriers
  • Ensure strategic objectives translate into measurable business, customer, operational, and financial outcomes
  • Provide executive visibility into initiative progress, key decisions, and areas requiring leadership attention
  • Conduct initiative reviews and post-implementation assessments
  • Lead the annual enterprise initiative prioritization process
  • Facilitate discussions on sequencing, trade-offs, resource allocation, and execution readiness
  • Develop integrated views of enterprise priorities, dependencies, and investment requirements
  • Support executive and Board strategy discussions, strategic planning sessions, and executive reviews
  • Elevate the quality, consistency, and strategic coherence of executive and Board materials
  • Steward excellence in leadership discussions and governance forums

Requirements

  • 8-10 years of experience in strategy consulting, corporate strategy, enterprise execution, strategic initiatives, business transformation, operating leadership, or related fields
  • Demonstrated track record leading complex cross-functional initiatives that deliver measurable business outcomes
  • Experience partnering with executive leadership teams and influencing decisions in highly matrixed organizations
  • Strong commercial, financial, and operational acumen
  • Proven ability to drive alignment, solve complex problems, and deliver results without direct authority
  • Exceptional communication and executive presentation skills
  • Experience developing executive and Board-level recommendations and materials
  • Experience in private equity value creation roles or at a top-tier management consulting firm a significant asset
  • Experience within financial services, banking, fintech, or other complex regulated industries
  • Experience leading enterprise-wide strategic initiatives, operating model changes, integration programs, or growth-focused initiatives
  • Familiarity with strategic planning, capital allocation, benefits realization, and organizational prioritization processes
