Responsibilities
Developing, implementing, and maintaining Process Safety Management (PSM) programs
Facilitating process hazard analysis (PHA), hazard operability studies (HAZOPs)
Supporting asset integrity and reliability
Conducting Management of Change (MOC) program
Ensuring safety impacts are assessed before changes
Supporting and developing operating procedures & safe work practices
Investigating incidents, near-misses, and abnormal events
Ensuring compliance with regulations and maintaining required process safety documentation
Requirements
Minimum of Bachelor of Science in Engineering (chemical, mechanical or related)
PEng preferred
Two years’ experience facilitating and leading process hazard analysis, certification preferred
Five years’ experience applying the principles of process safety
Five years’ experience with hazard identification and risk assessment techniques
Minimum two years’ experience working in a GMP environment
Strong understanding of thermodynamics, reactions, fluid flow
Hazardous properties of chemicals (including dust hazards)
Ability to collaborate across operation, maintenance and management
Strong documentation skills
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Technical knowledge of PHA software, experience with PHA works preferred
