About the role

  • Engineering Manager overseeing the Client Portal team at EvenUp. Leading development on a SaaS platform that empowers personal injury lawyers.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the Engineering Team: Manage and mentor a talented group of software engineers, guiding them through architectural decisions, career growth, and best practices.
  • Shape Technical Vision: Own the technical direction for the Client Portal team—designing extensible architecture and driving execution across the full software development lifecycle.
  • Drive Cross-functional Development: Partner with product and design to deliver seamless, performant, and intuitive user experiences.
  • Collaborate Across Functions: Work closely with cross-functional stakeholders—including Product, Legal, and Operations—to prioritize user needs and deliver high-impact solutions.
  • Foster Engineering Excellence: Set and uphold standards around quality, security, documentation, performance, testing, and observability.
  • Up-level the Team: Support engineering efforts in architecture and problem-solving while challenging, supporting, and up-leveling the team in these areas.

Requirements

  • Proven Leadership: 4+ years of engineering management experience, with a strong track record of hiring, mentoring, and developing engineers in fast-paced environments.
  • Experience at Scale: Strong understanding of scalability, performance, and security.
  • Staff-Level Expertise: Experience in building complex SaaS solutions, scalable web portals, resilient public APIs, and experience in integrating with multiple systems across vendors as well as data orchestration.
  • Product-Minded Execution: A passion for understanding user needs and translating them into reliable, scalable technical solutions.
  • Strong Communicator: Able to clearly articulate complex technical concepts to engineers and non-engineers alike.
  • Quality-First Mindset: Committed to writing maintainable, well-documented code and enforcing best practices in testing and reliability while maintaining a fast pace of execution.
  • Collaborative Partner: Experience working across product, design, and business functions to define and execute against a shared roadmap.
