About the role

  • Lead Traffic Engineer managing transportation planning and traffic operations analyses for EXP's transportation team. Driving project execution with team leadership and client relations in Ontario.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and supervise a team, which handles transportation planning and traffic operations analyses associated with:
  • Complex traffic impact studies for land development.
  • Environmental assessment and construction traffic impact analyses.
  • Transportation master plans; Operational analysis, including micro-simulation.
  • Project Manager for Traffic tasks and projects.
  • Maintain client communications; prepare technical reports and presentations.
  • Coordinate internal resources to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget and with quality control.
  • Oversee the assessments and preparation of reports, drawings and other deliverables prepared by junior staff.
  • Attend public/private meetings and make presentations as a representative of EXP and /or our clients to municipal Road authorities and MTO.
  • Assist in business development activities to continue to grow our group.
  • Make a positive contribution to the overall team culture and environment.

Requirements

  • Degree in Civil Engineering with 10+ years of related experience, preferably with Ontario Municipal Road and Provincial authorities and land development.
  • RAQS (Registry, Appraisal and Qualification System) certification for Traffic Impact Analysis, or qualifications to certify.
  • P. Eng. designation with PEO is required.
  • Experience in project management, report preparation, and client relationship management.
  • Proficient in the application of specialized traffic assessments and/or transportation planning software (Synchro, VISSIM, Aimsum and EMME).
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Experience leading and working on Transportation Master Plan projects is desirable.
  • Strong interpersonal skills that focus on meeting customer requirements.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, as well as advanced technical writing abilities.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.

  • ITE Canada membership desired.
  • Valid Ontario driver’s license (minimum G2).
