About the role

  • Audit Administrative Assistant supporting EY’s assurance and tax services in Toronto. Managing audit files, financial statements, tax packages and administrative coordination.

Responsibilities

  • Assist Audit Managers and Partners in organizing workflow
  • Support the organization of files
  • Communicate with audit teams
  • Set up new client files or roll them forward in Caseware/Canvas
  • Manipulate and import trial balances using MS Excel and Caseware/Canvas
  • Prepare, balance, update and format financial statements in Caseware
  • Make adjusting entries and proofread financial statements
  • Prepare bank, A/R, A/P and inventory confirmations
  • Finalize financial statements, ensuring required sign-offs and archiving
  • Coordinate tax returns and review notes between tax and audit
  • Prepare corporate, partnership and trust tax return packages for clients
  • Organize and save signed tax documents
  • E-file tax returns/forms and paper-file returns when necessary
  • Maintain and organize the client directory
  • Assist managers with client meeting presentations
  • Organize managers and facilitate communication and meetings
  • Prepare covering letters, tax letters and other correspondence
  • Perform other duties as required

Requirements

  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, dynamic team-oriented environment
  • Ability to set up new client files or roll them forward in Caseware/Canvas
  • MS Excel proficiency for manipulating trial balances for importing
  • Experience importing trial balances into Caseware/Canvas
  • Ability to prepare and balance financial statements in Caseware
  • Ability to update and format financial statements and make adjusting entries
  • Ability to proofread financial statements
  • Ability to prepare bank, A/R, A/P and inventory confirmations
  • Ability to finalize financial statements, ensuring required sign-offs and archiving
  • Ability to coordinate tax returns and review notes between tax and audit
  • Ability to prepare corporate/partnership/trust tax return packages for clients
  • Ability to organize and save signed tax documents
  • Ability to e-file tax returns/forms and paper-file returns when necessary
  • Ability to maintain and organize the client directory
  • Ability to assist managers with client meeting presentations
