About the role

  • Payroll Project Lead managing semi-monthly payroll and optimization initiatives at EY across Canada. Collaborating with the payroll team and contributing to process improvements.

Responsibilities

  • Calculate and process semi‑monthly payroll accurately and on schedule
  • Maintain and update employee payroll records in the Ceridian Dayforce system
  • Prepare Excel templates and documents for upload into Dayforce
  • Prepare payroll journal entries and perform GL account reconciliations
  • Manage and prepare remittances for third‑party deductions (garnishments, RRSP/TFSA, pension, charitable donations, etc.)
  • Respond to payroll inquiries from employees and former employees
  • Issue Records of Employment (ROEs)
  • Maintain payroll source documents using the company’s e‑filing system
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure all deadlines and service levels are met
  • Support payroll year‑end processes, including T4s and EHT filings
  • Contribute to special projects and payroll process improvements as assigned

Requirements

  • A minimum of 2 years of post-secondary education in Accounting, Business, HR, or a related field
  • 2–4 years of payroll processing experience
  • Advanced computer skills, particularly with Microsoft Excel and Word
  • Hands‑on experience with Ceridian Dayforce
  • Ideally, PCP designation (or in progress) through the National Payroll Institute is a strong asset
  • Experience processing multi‑province payroll for 1,000+ employees
  • Experience supporting year‑end payroll requirements (T4s, T4As, EHT)
  • Professional competency in English; bilingualism in French and English is an asset
  • Experience working with both internal and external stakeholders across regions
