About the role

  • Payroll Specialist managing accurate payroll processes and government remittances for a diverse client base. Serving as the primary contact for payroll inquiries and ensuring compliance with regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee and execute the accurate processing of hourly and salaried payrolls for a diverse client base
  • Manage and execute government remittances such as Source Deductions, WSIB, EHT ensuring compliance with all regulations
  • Following Employment Standards Act, accurate payments for statuary holidays, vacation pay, overtime payments, terminations etc.
  • Responsible for producing Record of Employments, T4s and other government forms.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for payroll-related inquiries, addressing and resolving client concerns with professionalism and promptness.

Requirements

  • Experience working in a variety of payroll systems considered an asset
  • 1-2 years experience with payroll required
  • Experience in client service where being proactive with problem solving would be considered an asset
  • Payroll experience required
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment
  • Strong analytical ability
  • Exceptional attention to detail
  • Proactive and solutions-based approach to problem solving
  • Commitment to high quality of work and exceptional client service
  • Experience with QuickBooks Desktop, QuickBooks Online and/or Wagepoint considered an asset.
