Senior Project Manager leading execution of complex substation projects at GE Vernova. Coordinating teams, managing timelines, budgets, and ensuring quality and safety compliance.
Responsibilities
Review the project scope and compare it with the GE Vernova proposal when the project file is transferred from the Sales team to Project Management.
Lead the project kick-off meeting with all internal contributors and assign roles and responsibilities.
Lead the client kick-off meeting to communicate the scope of work and clarify any outstanding points in the contract/order.
Drive the overall execution of complex substation projects, ensuring compliance with contractual scope, schedule, budget, quality, and safety requirements.
Consolidate and coordinate activities across multiple sub-projects and workstreams, building an integrated project view and ensuring alignment of priorities, milestones, dependencies, and deliverables.
Lead project planning and execution across all areas: engineering, procurement, fabrication, logistics, construction, commissioning, and final handover.
Establish and maintain effective project governance, including project reviews, action tracking, decision logs, escalation management, and reporting to leadership.
Monitor project performance using key indicators and proactively identify, assess, and mitigate risks, issues, delays, and cost impacts that could affect project delivery.
Support sub-project managers and functional teams in resolving cross-cutting issues, removing execution blockers, and maintaining focus on critical-path activities.
Manage client communications and stakeholder coordination to ensure transparency, alignment, and timely resolution of technical, commercial, and execution-related matters.
Ensure compliance with contractual requirements, internal processes, quality standards, and applicable regulatory and safety requirements throughout the project lifecycle.
Lead change management activities, including evaluating scope changes, schedule impacts, cost implications, and managing associated client approvals and notifications.
Prepare and present timely, accurate project reporting to leadership, including progress, forecasts, executive summaries, risks, pending decisions, and recovery plans if required.
Promote a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement within the project team and interfacing functions.
Support project closeout activities, including final deliverables, lessons learned, financial close, and transition to warranty or service phases, where applicable.
Requirements
University degree (Bachelor's) in engineering, business, operations, or a related field; an advanced degree or relevant certifications (e.g., PMP, Lean, Six Sigma) are a plus.
Minimum 7 years of project management experience relevant to the role, ideally in substations, network infrastructure, energy, or other large-scale, complex industrial projects.
