About the role
- Incentive compensation systems manager automating commissions, quotas, and payouts. Improving Xactly workflows and data systems for Grafana Labs’ open observability cloud.
Responsibilities
- Map current-state workflows across plan administration, calculation, approvals, and payout
- Identify and prioritize manual, repetitive, or error-prone process steps
- Design and build automated workflows, integrations, and tooling
- Replace ad-hoc spreadsheets and one-off scripts with durable, repeatable systems
- Own and configure Xactly ICM instances, including Incent and Connect
- Configure calculation rules, plan logic, and workflows
- Identify and productionize AI- and LLM-driven automation for exception detection, data reconciliation, plan document review, and common compensation questions
- Ensure clean, reliable incentive compensation data flows across CRM, People systems, calculation engines, payout, and reporting systems
- Establish documentation, standard operating procedures, and controls
- Set up a continuous improvement process for identifying and retiring manual work
- Translate incentive compensation process needs into system requirements and system constraints into process recommendations
- Support urgent ad-hoc requests during payout cycles while systematizing long-term fixes
- Report to the Senior Manager, Incentive Compensation
- Partner with Incentive Compensation Operations, Finance & Strategy, People Ops, Revenue Operations, and IT/Data teams
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in incentive compensation, sales operations, revenue operations, or a related systems/process improvement role
- Experience in a fast-paced technology or SaaS business highly preferred
- Demonstrated track record of finding manual, broken, or inefficient processes and systematizing solutions
- Hands-on SQL experience
- Experience querying and reconciling data across systems
- Hands-on experience building automated workflows using scripting, workflow/RPA platforms, or ICM systems such as Xactly, CaptivateIQ, Varicent, or SPIFF platforms
- Comfort standing up lightweight tools or integrations
- Familiarity with CRM systems such as Salesforce, HRIS, data warehouses such as BigQuery, and compensation management platforms such as Xactly
- Strong communication skills and ability to translate workflows into systems requirements and process changes
- Understanding of quotas, accelerators, SPIFFs, and payout timing
- Experience in high-growth SaaS, cloud, or open-source companies is a bonus
- Experience in public companies or IPO-readiness environments is a bonus
- Proven success working in globally distributed, remote-first organizations is a bonus
- Experience with MCP server ingestion or AI skills/agents for incentive compensation automation is a bonus
