About the role
- Project Manager responsible for leading Tourism and Culture initiatives in Hamilton, Ontario. Overseeing project delivery, community engagement, and innovative policy development.
Responsibilities
- Researching, developing, and implementing projects for Divisional initiatives related to policy development, continuous improvement and service delivery
- Ensure that assigned projects are delivered with consideration to the identification of project scope, schedule, cost and the management of associated risks
- Provides leadership, guidance, technical competence and achieves results through effective teamwork
- Lead community consultation initiatives related to projects
- Investigates, recommends, tests and evaluates innovative/creative policies and business processes for the Tourism and Culture Division
- Defines and documents project requirements and develops project charters
Requirements
- Demonstrated competence in project management
- Progressive experience in project management in a public or private sector organization
- Project Management designation an asset
- Demonstrated competence in developing and implementing stakeholder and community engagement approaches and strategies
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, facilitation skills and presentation
- Experience in team leadership and mentorship, with highly developed negotiation and conflict resolution
- Demonstrated ability to challenge, lead and inspire others to excel in an environment that fosters innovative approaches to problem-resolution
- Proven organizational skills and the ability to work with very tight deadlines and competing
- Competence with the current suite of Microsoft productivity tools, including PowerPoint, Excel and Word, Teams, One Drive and Sharepoint
- Familiarity project management and statistical software and applications an asset
- Progressive work experience / knowledge with technology and databases
- Must be able to work evenings and weekends as required.
