About the role

  • Quality Management Coordinator supporting the implementation of Quality Management Systems in Engineering Services Division. Ensuring compliance with City standards and delivering strategic operations improvements.

Responsibilities

  • Reporting to the Senior Project Manager of the Project Management and Quality Office in the Engineering Services Division.
  • Coordinate and support the implementation of Divisional processes and the Departmental Quality Management System (QMS).
  • Perform specialized administrative and technical work related to the identification, evaluation, prioritization and implementation of programs and initiatives.
  • Ensure that initiatives are delivered in accordance with City and Provincial guidelines.
  • Support the development, operation and maintenance of a Divisional Quality Management System and the delivery of various strategic, technical, research, legislative and operational duties.

Requirements

  • Proven demonstrated knowledge of the practices and theories of Quality Management Systems and strategic planning normally acquired through a post-secondary degree/diploma in Engineering, Quality Operations Management, or related discipline and/or a combination of education and progressive work-related experience.
  • QMS certification and/or Lean Six Sigma certification would be considered an asset.
  • Proven experience and knowledge of applicable theories, practices and trends in project management, process improvement, integrated management and quality management systems, within a municipal environment.
  • PMP designation would be considered an asset.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience developing or participating in the development of ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 18001 management systems.
  • Experience as Auditor for ISO 9001 and/or ISO 14001 would be considered an asset.
  • Knowledge and understanding of performance measurement and continuous improvement processes in an operations related/public works environment.
  • Proven experience in leading change and deploying continuous improvement programs; public sector and unionized environment an asset.
  • Highly effective leadership, facilitation, communication, presentation, conceptual problem-solving, interpersonal and organizational skills, with the ability to multi-task and adopt quickly to change.
  • Must possess a valid Class “G” Driver’s Licence.
