About the role
- Senior Project Manager overseeing water/wastewater systems planning for the City of Hamilton. Leading design reviews and managing consultant contracts for LRT infrastructure projects.
Responsibilities
- Provide leadership to staff and consultants within a Business Unit
- Review and approve water and wastewater infrastructure designs
- Ensure designs are cost effective, efficient, and timely
- Develop preliminary design for LRT corridor
- Oversee collection of data, review work produced by consultants, and address stakeholder concerns
- Mentor staff and provide day to day guidance
- Monitor and report Sectional key performance indicators
Requirements
- Extensive knowledge of Civil Engineering and/or Environmental Science
- Membership with Professional Engineers of Ontario or Ontario Association of Certified Engineering Technicians and Technologists preferred
- Knowledge of municipal water, wastewater and stormwater infrastructure planning and systems design
- Knowledge of the Clean Water Act, Safe Drinking Water Act, Ontario Water Resources Act
- Knowledge of the (Ontario) Planning Act, Provincial Policy Statement and Building Code Act
- Proven knowledge of the environmental assessment process
- Previous project management experience in a wastewater environment
- Excellent communication skills, both orally and written
- Valid Class “G” Driver’s Licence and provision of a vehicle for use on the job
