About the role
- Senior Design Engineer responsible for technical designs and drawings at Hexagon’s Mining division. Collaborating on heavy machinery control solutions and documentation in an engineering capacity.
Responsibilities
- Develop and prepare technical designs and drawings from preliminary concepts, specification sheets and other data
- Check and verify design drawings to conform to specifications and design data.
- Review and understand electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic schematics
- Review and understand heavy machine operator manuals
- Prepare electronic layouts, charts, detailed drawings, bills of material and equipment requirements from machine specifications, and standard layouts provided
- Revise computer-aided designs and plans to comply with modified specifications made during actual construction
- Review plans and write technical reports to meet project specifications
- Ensure proper documentation of all work, products and relevant activities
- Take part in peer review processes
- Work with internal ERP software
- Support field implementations
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s in Mechanical/Electrical/Mechatronics Engineering or equivalent.
- 5+ years of experience in an engineering environment
- Experience with Computer Aided Design Tools
- Experience working with an ISO 9001 environment would be considered an asset
- Motivated by challenging work
- Experience working in a collaborative, multi-site, team environment
- Experience with the operation and maintenance of heavy machinery used in mining or other related industries
