Field Service Technician specializing in underground mining equipment repair and maintenance. Responsible for troubleshooting, repairs, and ensuring operational efficiency.
Responsibilities
Inspect equipment to ensure proper operation and identify faults and failures
Adjust equipment and repair/replace defective components or systems according to the scope of work to restore equipment to original manufacturer specifications
Verify the proper operation of repaired equipment
Oversee the commissioning of new equipment
Accurately complete time sheets, technical reports, failure reports, and parts lists
Stay current with industry developments, customer needs, products, and technical best practices
Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
Diploma or certificate in a relevant field (mechanical/electrical) or equivalent experience as a heavy equipment mechanic
Five (5) years of related experience with mining equipment (underground)
Ability to work in French and English is an asset
Previous experience with Sandvik equipment or products is an asset
Ability to read hydraulic and electrical schematics
Proven ability to diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair electrical and mechanical issues on mining equipment
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Computer skills and experience with Microsoft software
Valid driver’s license required and willingness to travel to mine sites and across Canada as needed
Ability and willingness to work variable hours as required.
