HR Consultant delivering strategic HR support, employee relations, and disability management at Canada's leading mental health provider. Coaching leaders and supporting workplace accommodations across Homewood Health.
Responsibilities
Partner with leaders to provide strategic and operational HR guidance on employee relations, performance management, attendance management, employee engagement, organizational change, and workforce planning
Coach leaders on people-related matters while balancing business needs, legislative requirements, and employee considerations
Support workplace investigations, conflict resolution, and other employee relations matters
Interpret and apply employment legislation, organizational policies, and HR best practices
Facilitate disability, medical leave, and workplace accommodation cases from intake through resolution
Collaborate with employees, leaders, and external case management providers to support effective return-to-work and accommodation plans
Provide guidance on human rights obligations, accommodation requirements, and disability management best practices
Maintain accurate case documentation while ensuring confidentiality and legislative compliance
Participate in People & Culture projects, policy development, process improvement initiatives, and organizational programs
Develop tools, resources, communications, and training materials to support leaders and employees
Contribute to change management and organizational effectiveness initiatives
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Human Resources Management, Business Administration, Organizational Behaviour, or a related discipline
CPHR designation and membership in good standing with a provincial CPHR association preferred
5 to 7 years of progressive Human Resources experience
Demonstrated experience in employee relations, performance management, disability management, workplace accommodations, leadership coaching, and workplace investigations
Strong knowledge of employment standards, human rights legislation, and HR best practices
Excellent consultation, coaching, conflict resolution, and problem-solving skills
Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
Proficiency with HRIS systems, Microsoft Office applications, and appropriate use of AI tools
Proven ability to manage multiple priorities while exercising sound judgment and maintaining confidentiality
Commitment to building trusting relationships, fostering inclusion, and supporting a positive employee experience
Ability to communicate in French is considered an asset
