About the role

  • Claims Processor evaluating and processing pet insurance claims for Pets Plus Us across Canada. Reviewing veterinary histories, policy eligibility, coverage, and compensation decisions.

Responsibilities

  • Investigate, evaluate, and process insurance claims
  • Determine policy coverage for claimed losses and appropriate compensation amounts
  • Work closely with veterinary hospitals and policyholders to evaluate and review pets’ medical histories
  • Determine a baseline of health
  • Review policies to determine eligibility
  • Create and issue claims decisions to policyholders
  • Order medical records from providers when needed
  • Communicate with clients and providers during treatment when needed
  • Perform other assigned duties and responsibilities

Requirements

  • 3+ years in the veterinary field if a licensed technician
  • 5+ years in the veterinary field if an unlicensed assistant
  • Must be located in Canada
  • High school or secondary school diploma or GED required
  • Associate Degree or equivalent work experience
  • One-year relevant experience is equivalent to one-year college
  • Veterinary technician licensure strongly preferred
