About the role
- Gestionnaire principal·e pré-construction préparant des projets éoliens, solaires et de stockage chez Innergex. Coordonnant coûts, risques, gouvernance et stratégies de construction.
Responsibilities
- Lead pre-construction activities from the initial stages through the advanced phases of development to ensure projects are ready for and optimized before construction
- Plan, organize, and coordinate construction and engineering activities for complex projects
- Develop construction and operating cost estimates with cross-functional teams
- Assess estimates based on the stage of project development and advise the commercial and major contracts teams
- Establish and maintain a risk register and include contingencies in estimates
- Implement project governance mechanisms, such as cost-control tools, schedules, risk matrices, and project execution plans
- Participate in industry networking activities and monitor government programs, incentives, and industry trends
- Plan and coordinate handoffs between the development, construction, and operations phases
- Assess and implement the construction strategy for each project and site with the major contracts team
- Participate in portfolio acquisitions and coordinate construction-related due diligence
- Ensure coordination and information sharing within the multidisciplinary project team
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or business administration
- Specialization in wind and solar energy is an asset
- 7–10 years of experience in a similar role
- Experience developing and/or constructing wind and solar projects in the United States and/or Canada
- Contract negotiation experience is an asset
- Experience in energy storage is an asset
- Strong project management skills
- Knowledge of renewable energy project development
- Service-oriented and willing to work as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team; proactive, driven, and energetic
- Proficiency in the MS Office suite, particularly Microsoft Project, Visio, and Excel
- Knowledge of AutoCAD is an asset
- Knowledge of GlobalMapper is an asset
