About the role

  • Market Segment Manager identifying growth opportunities for ITW Welding’s semi-automatic and robotic welding portfolio. Leading market research, competitive analysis and cross-functional segment strategy.

Responsibilities

  • Identify and evaluate growth opportunities across Automation, Manufacturing, ConFab and Light Industries segments
  • Lead market exploration, competitive analysis and strategic planning efforts
  • Analyze customer needs, market dynamics and emerging opportunities
  • Conduct customer interviews, site visits, market research and competitive analysis
  • Assess opportunities, build business cases and provide strategic recommendations
  • Gather and translate market intelligence into business-planning insights
  • Monitor customer, competitor, industry, technology and channel trends
  • Combine market research with sales, profitability and channel-performance data
  • Inform segment strategies, product roadmaps and long-term planning
  • Contribute to cross-functional ITW Toolbox growth-improvement projects
  • Improve pricing, market share, channel performance and go-to-market effectiveness
  • Support process enhancements and establish organizational best practices
  • Define success measures, track results and share learnings
  • Collaborate with Product Management, Engineering, Sales, Finance, Operations, Marketing, end users and other ITW Welding divisions
  • Support business decisions, investment priorities and division growth objectives

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Engineering or a related field is required
  • Minimum of seven years of experience in strategic marketing, market research, product management, business development or a related role
  • Experience preferably in B2B markets
  • Proven success in market validation, segment strategy or new-market entry
  • Experience with primary research, market sizing, competitive analysis and business-case development
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint is required
  • Ability to travel up to 30% within the United States, Canada and internationally
  • Strong business and financial acumen
  • Ability to work with qualitative and quantitative information
  • Ability to translate complex findings into clear recommendations
  • Effective communication skills
  • Ability to build relationships across functions
  • Organized and adaptable, with ability to manage multiple priorities amid ambiguity
  • Curiosity, sound judgment and collaborative mindset
  • MBA or equivalent master's degree is preferred
  • Experience with industrial products, welding, automation or distribution channels is preferred
  • Desire and drive to advance and grow within the organization
