About the role

Fullstack Python Developer working on modernizing media distribution solutions for a major Canadian media client. Involves developing web applications and deploying on Kubernetes in a hybrid work environment.

Responsibilities

Design and implement web applications (front-end + back-end) that replace legacy broadcasting equipment
Build and maintain robust, well-documented REST and GraphQL APIs
Deploy and operate on Kubernetes — you'll work on CI/CD pipelines and production rollout, not just application code
Participate in architecture decisions with lead developers and solution architects
Cover your code with unit, functional, and integration tests
Support and evolve existing systems — debugging, optimization, refactoring
Document your designs

3 to 5 years of experience developing full-stack web applications
Bachelor's degree or certificate in computer science (or equivalent demonstrated experience)
Strong in Python/Django and comfortable with Kubernetes
Comfortable with front-end single-page applications (one of the major frameworks)
Bilingual in French and English (spoken and written) — the team works in both languages
Familiar with Scrum/Agile practices
Experience with legacy-to-cloud/container migration projects is a plus
Exposure to .NET/C# is a plus
DevOps instincts: comfortable inspecting a Helm chart or debugging a pod in production

12-month contract with renewal options (up to March 2028)
True hybrid: 2 days/week in the office, 3 remote
