About the role

  • Growth Design Manager leading Conversion, Activation, and Virality designers at Mercury fintech. Driving discovery, adoption, experimentation, and customer experience improvements.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and develop designers across Mercury’s Growth organization, including Conversion, Activation, and Virality
  • Coach designers and provide context, feedback, and development support
  • Partner with Product and Engineering leadership to shape Growth strategy and identify high-leverage opportunities
  • Turn opportunities into compelling customer experiences
  • Use experimentation, customer insight, and business results to guide product decisions
  • Raise the quality bar across web presence, conversion, activation, virality, and customer experience
  • Create clarity in ambiguous problem spaces and define priorities and excellent execution
  • Build scalable Growth Design systems and operating practices while preserving creativity and judgment
  • Grow the design team and maintain a high hiring bar

Requirements

  • Experience leading and developing high-performing product or growth designers, including coaching senior designers through ambiguous, consequential work
  • Track record of using design to drive measurable business outcomes
  • Understanding of experimentation and growth mechanics without sacrificing customer experience
  • Excellent design thinking with strong visual and product judgment
  • Ability to evaluate experience details while seeing the larger system
  • Comfort moving between strategic partnership, critique, organizational clarity, and hands-on work
  • Commitment to developing people through high standards and thoughtful feedback
  • Curiosity about customer behavior
  • Ability to operate independently in a fast-moving, ambiguous environment
  • Background may include product design, growth design, consumer products, commerce, or similar environments
