About the role

  • Senior Field Applications Engineer providing engineering support for Microchip's products. Collaborating with customers throughout the product lifecycle for successful integration and satisfaction.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary technical point of contact for key customers, providing deep product knowledge and support for their applications.
  • Collaborate with sales teams to identify customer needs, propose solutions, and drive design-in opportunities.
  • Support customers throughout the product lifecycle, including pre-sales, design, development, and post-sales phases.
  • Deliver technical presentations, product demonstrations, and training sessions for customers and partners.
  • Analyze customer requirements and provide recommendations on optimal product usage, system architecture, and integration.
  • Work closely with internal engineering, product management, and R&D teams to convey customer feedback and influence product development.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues, escalating to engineering teams when necessary.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with decision-makers and technical stakeholders at customer sites.
  • Stay informed of industry trends, competitive products, and emerging technologies.
  • Mentor and provide technical support to junior FAEs and other team members.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • Proven track record in bringing designs into production, with a history of career progression within an organization.
  • More than 8 years of design experience in relevant product areas (e.g., embedded systems, software/firmware, hardware, Ethernet).
  • Customer-facing experience in a Field Applications Engineer, Technical Support Engineer, or similar customer-oriented role.
  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and debugging skills.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to engage both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Willingness to travel to customer sites as required.
  • Bilingual proficiency in English and French.
