About the role

  • Training Coordinator managing training, recruitment support, and compliance programs at Nestlé Canada’s Toronto food factory. Building workforce capability through learning plans, materials, and on-the-job coaching.

Responsibilities

  • Report to the HR Manager and manage training and development for employees at the unionized Sterling Road factory
  • Develop and manage the site training plan and budget
  • Conduct training needs analyses and translate needs into learning solutions
  • Create training materials, technical documentation, and business communications
  • Deliver in-house training activities
  • Manage training events and programs from planning through delivery, evaluation, follow-up, and continuous improvement
  • Manage the on-the-job training program and coach factory trainers
  • Support internal recruitment and job postings under the collective agreement
  • Track training completion and statistics using Excel, Access, or similar tools
  • Maintain accurate training records
  • Maintain and update factory standard operating procedures and intranet content
  • Coordinate with approved vendors and consultants
  • Support internal audits and site compliance activities related to Quality, Food Safety, Environment, and Health and Safety standards
  • Participate in site committees including NEMS, Food Safety, Document Control, and the Joint Health and Safety Committee
  • Work independently in a fast-paced factory environment and adjust priorities as operational needs change

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or college diploma in a related field
  • 2–4 years of experience in training, learning & development, technical writing, or a similar role
  • Strong communication, facilitation, technical writing, and project management skills
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
  • Knowledge of Food Safety, HACCP, ISO standards, and Quality Management Systems (NQMS)
  • Experience in manufacturing, food manufacturing, or a unionized environment
  • Experience with instructional design and training program development
  • Experience supporting compliance, quality, food safety, environmental, or health & safety programs
  • Experience coaching trainers or managing on-the-job training programs
